"Lättähattu" Christmas Railcar to Porvoo (Helsinki asema–Porvoo) 12/8/2018

OperatorPorvoon Museorautatie ry

Visit historical Porvoo, Finland's second oldest town, in style – with a Dm7 "Lättähattu" railcar! This classic train of 1950s design takes you directly from Helsinki Central Railway Station through the suburban landscape to Kerava, where it switches from the main line to the freight-only Porvoo line and passes through Nikkilä. After the Sköldvik branch departs the old line in Olli, the rest of the trip to Porvoo is on a specially preserved heritage line through a picturesque countryside.

The timetable will be announced later.

The stopover time in Porvoo allows to enjoy the historic old town and a nice lunch in one of the many restaurants, for instance on the riverside.

A great possibility to experience an old train, Finnish countryside and a beautiful old town – all within a day trip from Helsinki!
