Rauma Line 120 Years (Rauma–Kiukainen) 8/16/2017

The Rauma railway line turns 120 – first scheduled day of traffic was 16.8.1897.

VR's Hr1 "Ukko-Pekka" 1021 celebrates the occasion by pulling the coaching stock of Haapamäki Museum Locomotive Society (HMVY) from Tampere to Rauma on 16.8. and back the next day (please see separate events on these). In addition there are three return trips Rauma–Kiukainen.

For the first return trip to Kiukainen tickets are sold by the newspaper Länsi-Suomi to its readers, and City of Rauma tourist office Pyyrman, contact tiina.koskela(at)rauma.fi, for the two other trips.

First trip by newspaper Länsi-Suomi, reservations and pick-up at marketing office Susivuorentie 2.

Other two trips City of Rauma service point Pyyrmanni (Valtakatu 2 A), tel. +358 28345001. Open Mon–Thu 9–16, Tue 9–17 and Fri 9–15.

Tickets must be reserved, paid and picked up from Pyyrmanni before Wed 16.8. On Wed 16.8. remaining tickets can be inquired at the station from the conductor, in which case payment by cash only.

A café on the train is operated by Laitilan Wirwoitusjuomatehdas and Fresco restaurants.
