Already for the eighth summer in a row Haapamäki Museum Locomotive Society takes passengers from Turku and intermediate station to Uusikaupunki centre (old Kalaranta halt). A massive heritage diesel locomotive pulls wooden 1950s coaches and a restaurant car selling snacks and beverages. After passing through the countryside of Southwestern Finland – on a normally freight-only line – the train arrives at Uusikaupunki, with the lively old centre and its seashore – all in the height of summer. Two return trips on Friday and Saturday, one on Sunday.
